RESA Regional Vice President, Karen Eubank of Eubank Staging, recently participated in a pro bono staging with a team of writers from CandysDirt.com. The five-part series and pro bono staging resulted from ‘ruffling some feathers’ over comments made about a Dallas listing that had an exterior as cute as a button yet the interior photos left a lot to be desired. Never meaning any harm, the team decided to show them the changes they had in mind! What a great project and an interesting read as each of them describe the experience. Thanks for sharing Karen!
The three experts explain why sellers, investors & agents should always have a team of professionals enhance every listing. Great job representing RESA Lisa!

Not only will you find Betsy Wilbur making news in the LA Times, she was also featured in Forbes.com. Written by Vanessa McGrady, the article is titled “7 Pro Tips To Help Your Home Sell Faster, For More Money“. Here are two of seven tips she provides to readers:
- Keep décor neutral: Neutral does not mean boring, but it does mean staying away from shocking colors, and even avoiding all-white and all-beige walls. “I’ve staged some fantastic rooms with deep purple or black walls – it’s all about knowing how to make it work.”
- Remove personal items: All personal pictures, family plaques, framed certificates, etc., should be packed. “I also suggest packing up anything smaller than a cantaloupe. We want the buyer to envision themselves living there right away, and a house full of someone else’s pictures doesn’t do that.”

RESA State President of Texas, Karen Eubank who is also a RESA-PRO, Dallas Chapter member and Owner of Eubank Staging, shares her extrodinary work and the power of staging! Recently, Karen was featured in Candysdirt.com and it’s a must see! If you’ve ever doubted the power of home staging to get a property ready for sale, this post will change your mind.
The home at 7128 Helsem Bend is 3,768 square feet in the Hillcrest Forest neighborhood and was absolutely brimming with art, collections, furniture, and accessories. When the owner decided to sell, his Realtor called Karen Eubank.
“The challenge was, this house was filled with gorgeous items and when I walked through it, I was paying attention to those things,” Eubank said. “When a buyer is looking at an object and not the house, that’s a problem—we needed to edit the things that were a distraction so buyers would be looking at the view, the woodwork, the things they are going to buy.”
“Even with everything edited, I still had a great amount of beautiful things to work with,” she said. “I rehung artwork and rearranged things, painted rooms, and did some repair on faux finishes.”

On November 4, 2015, a special event coordinated by RESA’s California State President Cathy Lee Cibelli of Cathy Lee Designs Services and sponsored by “Sherwin-Williams” and “The Floor Store“, was held at The Floor Store’s Dublin, CA location.
“Fall For Color Together” was free and welcomed Bay Area stagers, designers and industry professionals to learn about new color trends, new flooring products and provided a great networking opportunity for all who attended.
Chloe Vaille of Sherwin-Williams presented the “2016 Color Forecast” and Brian Rogan of The Floor Store shared an amazing array of flooring products and how extremely affordable their pricing is. The Floor Store carries a huge variety of products and is able to offer affordable pricing due to their large amount of “in-stock inventory”. RESA’s CEO and professional speaker Shell Brodnax, educated the group about the Real Estate Staging Association and the valuable membership benefits it offers to it’s membership. Shell also shared that the 7th Annual RESA Convention “RESACON2016” is being held in Las Vegas, NV at the Treasure Island Hotel on January 22, 23, 24, 2016.
