Institute for Justice and Interior Design Protection Council Join Forces to Take Down Interior Design Cartel
The IDPC and allied organizations, has filed an Amicus (“Friend of the Court”) Brief in the 11th Court of Appeals in support of the appeal filed by the Institute for Justice last month. At issue is a Florida law that requires a government-issued license to perform commercial interior design work. Given that there has never been a documented instance of harm from interior design in the 47 states that do not regulate the practice of interior design, it is quite clear that licensing interior designers has nothing to do with protecting the public and everything to do with protecting industry insiders from fair competition. Illinois IDPC supporters,
As you may know, I am scheduled to speak at the IFDA chapter meeting on November 10th (today), just outside of Chicago. Last night, I was notified that the meeting location which was to be at Terrazzo Marble has been changed. Allegedly, ASID strong-armed Terrazzo into withdrawing their sponsorship of this meeting.

What is ASID so afraid of? How can one little designer cause the big multi-million dollar lobbying bully to go to such lengths to censor? Maybe I should trade in my pink boxing gloves for a sling shot. . .
Don’t they know by now they cannot censor IDPC from telling the truth about their anti-competitive licensing scheme and how it would negatively impact the design community.
I am looking forward to seeing you all there. Oh, and if any of the ASID-led cartel show up, I will have a supply of extra-large band-aids, because as we know, the truth hurts.

We have been warned by a pa. House representative’s office that calls are now coming in in favor of a new interior design licensing bill. We have now read this bill, and while it has not yet been introduced, idlcpa (asid + iida) has already starting its campaign.
