Sarah Lynn Interiors brought warm color, thoughtful room arrangements, and a sense of everyday life to a home on High Street.
Charlestown, a historic Boston neighborhood, provides the setting for this High Street home, adjacent to Monument Square and the Bunker Hill Monument.
Upstairs, a chair beside an open Juliet balcony door makes the most of that address. Sunlight spills across the wood floor, and the monument rises above the neighboring rooftops. A patterned pillow rests against the chair’s woven back, with a small table within reach.
It is easy to imagine bringing your coffee here.

For Sarah Lento of Sarah Lynn Interiors, LLC, that possibility was the point. When staging the High Street property, she wanted buyers to picture what it might feel like to wake up here. The view was already there. Giving someone a place to enjoy it helped make it part of the home.
That attention to everyday living shaped the project, from the seating around the fireplace to the decision about which bedroom would become an office. The sellers accepted an offer on the fifth day on the market, and the home ultimately sold for $251,000 above asking, earning Sarah recognition in RESA®’s Sold Over List Price Club at the $250K level.
A warm welcome, with character intact
With its blue siding, white trim, and dormer windows, the home has a presence that carries indoors. A detailed fireplace surround anchors the living room, warm wood floors connect the spaces, and upstairs ceiling lines give the bedrooms their own character.

Sarah wanted a clean, contemporary feel with classic elements that belonged comfortably within the architecture.
In the living room, a cognac tufted sofa brings warmth and a familiar, traditional shape. Olive upholstered armchairs introduce softer color, their exposed wood frames keeping the arrangement visually light. Between them, a black coffee table adds contrast, while a pale rug defines a place to gather around the fireplace.
The palette feels connected to the house. Wood tones pick up the warmth underfoot, and the greens sit easily against the light walls. Above the mantel, a round mirror allows the fireplace’s decorative detail to remain the focus.
There is enough furniture to suggest an evening with company, but the room still has breathing space. The architecture remains visible, and the seating gives it a comfortable context.

Before the furniture came the floor plan
Some of the most consequential choices happened before installation.
Working with listing agents Stephanie Rivkind and Grace Bloodwell of Coldwell Banker Realty, Sarah considered how prospective buyers might use the home. With three bedrooms available, the team chose to present one as a home office. The basement would become a TV den, showing another place to unwind.
Choosing the office required a closer look at the two secondary bedrooms. One offered neighborhood views; the other had balcony access. The team weighed privacy, function, and the impression each arrangement would create, ultimately keeping the balcony-access room as a bedroom and furnishing the other as an office.
That decision gave buyers a way to understand the layout beyond a bedroom count. They could see where a workday might happen, where guests might stay, and how the home could accommodate different parts of daily life.
In the balcony-access bedroom, layered neutral bedding and paired bedside lamps establish a quiet mood. The arrangement leaves the French doors accessible, keeping that connection to the outdoors part of the room’s appeal.

Everyday comforts, thoughtfully placed
The kitchen offered another opportunity to make daily routines easy to picture.
White cabinetry stretches around the room, with warm floors keeping the space from feeling stark. Sarah added a round dining table and four woven chairs beneath the drum pendant, creating a natural gathering place beside the kitchen. Wood-framed stools at the island echo the dining chairs’ curves and pale upholstery.
You can imagine someone lingering at the table while another person makes breakfast, or pulling up a stool for a conversation during dinner preparation. The furnishings establish those possibilities while leaving the cabinetry and work surfaces clearly visible.
A vase of flowering branches is enough to finish the table. The room already has generous detail in its glass-front cabinets, hardware, and lighting; the staging gives those features room to be appreciated.

Upstairs, the bedroom beneath the sloped ceiling calls for a different approach. Here, a curved wood headboard and pale blue bedside table sit beneath the changing roofline. Softly patterned bedding adds another layer of detail, while the small under-eave door remains visible beside the bed.
Furnished, the room’s proportions become easier to understand. The bed provides scale, and the gentle colors make the angled ceiling feel like part of a cozy retreat.

A little piece of Charlestown
Throughout the home, Sarah’s choices draw attention to what makes the property worth remembering. The fireplace becomes a place to gather. A secondary bedroom offers a setting for working from home. Beneath the eaves, an unusual room becomes an inviting place to end the day.
Together, those choices give the High Street address a more personal meaning. Buyers can begin to imagine their belongings, their routines, and their favorite places within it.
Upstairs, beside the Juliet balcony, that invitation is especially clear: a chair, a little sunlight, and a familiar Charlestown landmark just beyond the door.
