RESA is accepting candidate submissions for 2017 local chapter board positions. Candidates must submit their interest directly to RESA with the link provided below; chapters are not collecting candidate submissions locally. Existing local board members must be voted in to be considered for an additional term. Board members interested in serving the same position for more than two terms, must be approved by RESA.

The Positions
- Presides at board and chapter meetings.
- Appoints all committees, except nominating committee, subject to the approval of the board.
- Presidents are facilitators and are to facilitate the running of the chapter.
- Assists the president and all the board members.
- Learns all the functions and roles of the chapter.
- Assists the chapter members.
- Responsible for the implementation and follow-through on the National membership marketing campaign, when one is in effect.
- Establishes local chapter membership goals, in coordination with the local chapter president and local chapter board.
- Communicates membership goals and organize chapter effort to achieve goals.
- Monitors membership records. Compare current membership to the National RESA® directory for accuracy. Notify any members if they are not current with National and instruct them to join or renew with RESA® National.
- The chapter secretary takes the minutes of each chapter meeting.
- The secretary is responsible for notifying RESA-HQ of names and addresses of newly elected officers of the chapter as soon as elected.
- Maintains the permanent chapter minutes binder and passes on to future secretary.
- Maintains custody of the funds of the chapter and handles the chapters ‘banking needs.
- Assures Treasurer’s Report is available at all board meetings.
- Reviews expenditures and financial status on a regular basis to ensure overall fiscal integrity.
- Gives receipts for collection of cash, keeps copy of transaction for chapter’s permanent records.
- Treasurer is responsible for filing the chapter tax return if the chapter has not claimed exempt status with RESA® National. If except status is claimed, the treasurer is responsible for filing the 990 form.
- Filing the appropriate state taxes.
Requirements
- Candidates must be RESA members.
- Candidates must have no ethics violations.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate a passion for the industry and RESA’s mission, values and goals.
