Feature Friday – Katherine Jordan

I love staging because: it allows me to be as creative as I want to be. I’m able to turn a blank canvas into something spectacular! It  feeds my unquenchable thirst to be able to design for all to admire my craft from near and far. Staging gives me instant gratification when seeing potential buyers or future clients become emotionally attached to my designs.

My style is: like a design recipe which entails a handful of modern glam, a hint of traditional elegance with a pinch of contemporary. I truly love all things trendy, fashionable and beautiful!

Good staging should: be all about keeping potential buyers in mind. Creating that emotional connection from the curb, to the front door, to inside the property and out again. It’s important in making sure the entire home tells a complete story about the type of life that potential buyers could possibly have living in that property. Colors should be as neutral as possible, the home should be decluttered, thoroughly cleaned, and you should add about 10% of a featured color via accessories to give a small punch of color for a dramatic effect.

Right now I’m obsessed with: gold finishes, navy blues that match my brand colors and black walls.

Staging is: the number 1 marketing tool and by far the most important element when selling a home; other than price and location.

It’s my goal to: educate, empower and equip homeowners and real estate professionals that I partner with, on the supreme importance of Staging their properties prior to listing them.

My motto is: Stage It. List It. Sell It – SOLD!

I love what I do because: I’m able to help so many people transition into their new phase of life when all the stars are aligned correctly; meaning the property is staged to perfection, it sells quick/above asking, and the buyer, seller, and agent are happy! It becomes a win win for all parties involved.

My Greatest success this year has been: mentoring to other women that want to enter into the home staging Industry and being able to give them sound advice, guidance and specific resources to help make them more successful in their career transition like my past mentors have done for me. I’m all about sharing my knowledge and resources to better the next person and to help them gain a head start within this industry.
