Lori Murphy Reflects on 2018

Being involved in a Leadership position for the Real Estate Staging Association allows you to get involved with your local staging community, while making a difference in the home staging industry. RESA Headquarters is so thankful for those leaders who are making way in their communities and dedicating their time and knowledge to advance professionalism and excellence in real estate staging.

Reflecting With Lori Murphy 2018 RESA Columbus Chapter President

1. What made you decide to get involved in RESA leadership?

Necessity; Columbus / Ohio needed a chapter to help support fellow stagers and encourage one another. We had a lot of interest in the chapter, but not a lot of interest in being on the board.

2. What are you most proud of accomplishing during your time in RESA leadership?

I’m really proud of the camaraderie and friendship we’ve fostered in our chapter. Most of our members didn’t know each other prior to the start of the chapter.

3. What was your favorite chapter meeting this year?

My favorite meeting this past year was definitely when JoAnne Lenart-Weary gave a presentation . . . she was funny, captivating and had some really great advice!

4. Did you face any fears while being involved with leadership and if so how did you handle them?

I’m not sure I’d call it a fear, but speaking in front of a group of people has always made me uncomfortable. Although still not my favorite thing to do, I do feel much more confident about it.
