Feature Friday – The Den

Amanda Lewis is the owner and Lead Stylist of The Den in Denver, CO. After leaving a fashion career in NYC, Amanda was looking to carve out a creative niche and quickly fell into staging.

“I began shadowing a local stager then launched my own company. I always had high hopes of having my own rental warehouse and last year I took the plunge into opening a full-service rental warehouse.”

Amanda is now one of 3 rental warehouses in her area. She specializes in upscale furnishings with a website in which clients can rent directly from and have their items delivered.

“I saw the potential in our market to do something a little different and was excited for the chance to make it happen. It’s such a quirky industry and insanely fun to come up with different moods and feels for all of the properties.”

Learn more about Amanda:

My motto is…

Work hard and be nice to people.

I love what I do because…

It fulfills me creatively more than any other career I’ve had. I get the pleasure of sourcing beautiful pieces and styling homes and it never gets old!

When I am not working I enjoy…

Spending time with my husband and 3-year-old daughter and painting.

Right now I am obsessed with…

Everything bouclé and vintage decor finds.

My goal is…

to push my business to become the go-to resource for the luxury market.

My morning ritual is…

Coffee, coffee then emails.

My favorite meal after a long day of staging is…

Chips & salsa (not really a meal, but it’s so satisfying)!

When faced with a struggle…

I quickly set out to come up with a number of solutions and take action. I don’t let anything stop me.

My go-to staging accessory is…

Art and photography books and I also really love dried stems for my vases.

When you are in a rut creatively where do you go or what do you do to get out of it?

Flip through my design and architecture books to find inspiration. I’ll also go and source some new pieces to keep it fresh.

If you could only keep five possessions, what would they be?

My idea notebook, wedding ring, necklace from when my daughter was born, does my warehouse count?! & my computer.

What does a perfect day look like to you?

Have a leisurely morning with my family, staging a listing then, going home to enjoy a glass of wine.

Would you rather stage an occupied listing or vacant?

Vacant for sure!

Who is your role model and why?

I don’t necessarily have one in particular. I’m inspired by a collective of people in my life.
