Meet Cheri Eggleston. Owner and Founder of Eggleston Designs. Cheri has been a home stager since 2003 and has helped thousands of clients with staging and re-design in the Placer/Sacramento region. Her organizational skills and empathy for her clients is well received and she thoroughly enjoys the process with all her clients.
I realized how much the industry changes the whole marketing of a home and how it benefits sellers. Loving design since a child played a role too. Why not do something you love and get rewarded in so many ways, besides monetarily, its who I am and what I love to do!
Whether it is an occupied or vacant staging, Cheri knows how stressful selling a house can be, and uses her trained eye to best feature any home to its full potential. She incorporates the latest design trends, and updates her extensive staging inventory to create beautiful aesthetics that will capture the eye of potential buyers as soon as they walk through the door.
Cheri is an Accredited Staging Professional and a proud member of the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA) which leads staging industry standards and professionalism for the real estate market. Beginning in 2023, Cheri will serve as President-Elect for the RESA Sacramento Regional Chapter.
Learning, credibility, professionalism and friendships. I have gained so much from being a part of this organization. I cant imagine any professional home stager not benefiting from all the great information provided to them from RESA!

What do you enjoy to do outside of work?
I am a gym junkie! Having been in the fitness industry, way before staging, I love the way it keeps my healthy, and strong – staging is hard work! Traveling as of late, family time and gardening.
What do you think about when you are alone in your car?
Haha everything!
What was your first day on the job like?
I honestly don’t even remember, I just knew this was for me!
What part of owning your own business is the least enjoyable for you and why?
The administrative part, and the physically demanding part on really hot days! AND not being able to stop thinking about current projects before going to bed.

What is the next step in your staging career?
Becoming more involved in leadership roles and perhaps helping newbies. My experience can help others. I am not ready to retire yet but I feel like I will always be tied to this industry in some way.
If you could only keep five possessions, what would they be?
This would require too much thought at the moment.
What’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to working with clients?
Them thinking I can just pop out a house with 2 days notice for pennies.
Did you have a career outside of staging? If so tell us about it… how has skillsets from your previous career transfer over?
I was a fitness instructor for about 15 years. I have a strong organizational mindset which started by creating routines for classes. Being a mom of 3 brings its own set of multi-tasking skills too!

Where do you draw inspiration from for your staging?
I would say nature. I enjoy showcasing nature in someway, whether it’s through natural elements, art or hues. I love to bring in pops of color in my designs!
What project are you really excited about right now and why?
The opportunity to work a little outside my comfort zone with a long distance client in picking out finishes for a remodel and coordinating the contractors. Am I crazy?
What do you wish real estate agents knew about the “Behind The Scenes” of your business?
How hard we work and how much we edify them to our clients. Most of my regulars know this.

When you are in a rut creatively where do you go or what do you do to get out of it?
Social Media for inspiration!
Are you managing a team? If so, what do you do to keep your employees motivated?
I always compliment, keep them in the loop, and make them feel valued. At the end of the day, you want them to enjoy what they do and have fun doing it.
Tell us about your most rewarding staging job.
My largest one, with 9 living spaces. I almost felt like I was over my head but in reality, it’s just more planning. The agent put their trust in me and the client trusted the agent. I am a smaller company yet, just as valid as the larger ones. It felt so good when I was done!
