How many times have I heard these words? Hundreds, perhaps even thousands of times. What happens between the thought and the reality is what counts.
Unfortunately we live in a somewhat negative world so there are people who, because they “care” about you, will decry the dream. They may say “this isn’t a good time,” “it isn’t possible,” “not probable,” and “definitely not financially viable,” or “you are good enough, you don’t need training”. The dream gnaws at you, the seeds of doubt were planted and they erode the confidence you had in your own knowing and so you do nothing. How does that make you feel, even just reading about it? Not great, right?
This reminds me of a wonderful quote from “Power Of One” by Bryce Courtnay, “Always in life an idea starts small, it is only a sapling idea, but the vines will come and they will try to choke your idea so it cannot grow and it will die and you will never know you had a big idea…” the quote later continues, “The vines are people who are afraid of originality, of new thinking. Most people you encounter will be vines; when you are a young plant they are very dangerous… It is better to be wrong than simply to follow convention. If you are wrong, no matter, you have learned something and you grow”.
What if he is right and you can trust that the path you are on is the right one, know and believe you are being looked after, guided and protected as you move along the path and the dream you have is the next step for you. In the universe, there are no mistakes, no coincidences or short cuts, just learning experiences and the path we are supposed to take usually shows itself over and over. Whether to take the path or continue to ignore the signs is your choice.
There are several reasons we may not take the path. Practicality sometimes has us thinking the risk is too great. We need a steady income, we might not find clients, etc. I think every entrepreneur has a story where they got to a point where they just took the leap. Some of the wealthiest people have taken that leap and failed, then taken it again and again as the calling was just too great and they knew they were destined for something. They don’t see those experiences as failure but as learning experiences, they adjusted and went on to the next endeavor.
I am writing this to tell you that the unknown “will the class help me?” “Can I start a business” “Is it too expensive”, etc. are questions that once students have taken the class fade away. We have students that have taken the CSP after taking other staging courses who say:
