Use a 6 inch level and chalk to hang art. Place the 6 inch level where you want the artwork to hang, mark the entire line with chalk. You can step back and take a look to ensure it’s ‘right’ before doing anything permanent. If the lines aren’t where you want, they are simple to wipe off without any trouble at all.
When you have the art positioned the way you want, then put a small nail at each end of the line. This serves two purposes! The art hangs level the FIRST time, and if someone slams a door, you have two small nails to ensure the art STAYS level. It literally takes seconds to hang art even if you’re alone.
The chalk also comes in handy if you buy a multi color pack from Crayola, as the chalk comes close to lots of paint colors, so you can use it to fill the nail holes when you’re de-staging. ”
