WNC RESA Chapter News

On April 29, 2010, members of the WNC Chapter of RESA  participated in the Asheville Board of Realtors EXPO. Our chapter goal is to have a consistent outreach to the community of potential clients, both real estate agents and the public. This event was our major agent effort for the year. We have two events in planning for later this year going directly to the public. We set up a booth in the REXPO event. We had four venues within the booth to facilitate flow through the booth.

Venue One – a presentation board highlighting the value of home staging using the RESA stats for 2010. That highlight board was flanked with before and after photos.

Venue Two – a computer set-up to sit down with REALTORS® and look at their MLS listing and do a free analysis of one room in their listing.

Venue Three – multiple presentation boards highlighting through photos, the ways home staging actually merchandizes a home rather than just decorating a home. The individual aspects of staging like, flow, focal point were highlighted. Also, how home stagers create emotion in the potential buyer was depicted in before and after photos of a very exciting outdoor deck makeover at a lake home.

Venue Four- was a presentation board and information area. We sat with agents to discuss the advantages of home staging and how it specifically assists them in marketing the property. Handouts with more detailed information and a brochure with information about RESA and each of the participating stagers were handed out.

Each of the WNC RESA members have received follow-up calls for estimates or consultations, or actual staging. One job for each WNC RESA member covers the costs incurred to sponsor the booth. A great deal! We get our money back, we make connections that, we hope, lead to continued business.
