Amanda Elmgren Reflects On Her Time In RESA Leadership

Being involved in a Leadership position for the Real Estate Staging Association allows you to get involved with your local staging community, while making a difference in the home staging industry. RESA Headquarters is so thankful for those leaders who are making way in their communities and dedicating their time and knowledge to advance professionalism and excellence in real estate staging.

Reflecting With Amanda Elmgren 2018 RESA Minneapolis Area Chapter Treasurer

1. When did you get involved in leadership?
I joined the leadership team as the Treasurer in January of 2018. I’d been a RESA member since the summer of 2017 and when it came time to fill some leadership positions I was happy to do so!

2. What made you decide to get involved in RESA leadership?
I had such a positive experience in the first year I was involved in RESA and thought it’d be great to contribute a bit more to our local chapter by joining the leadership team. I’ve really enjoyed taking my RESA membership to the next level by becoming more involved in our local chapter. It’s such a great group!

3. What are you most proud of accomplishing during your time in RESA leadership?
I’m happy I’ve been able to provide my organizational skills to the role of Treasurer, ensuring documentation and transactions are accurate and up to date.

4. What advice do you have for others who are interested in being involved with RESA leadership?
I would highly recommend taking on a leadership role to anyone who may be considering it! It’s a great way to be involved and have more input when it comes to things such as meeting topics, locations and guest speaker opportunities. Getting a behind the scenes peek into the operation of the local chapter is fantastic!

5. What do you hope to see for the staging industry in the next 5 years?
Although home staging has been around for quite some time, I think it’s still gaining awareness and momentum. It’s often at the bottom of the priority list for many homeowners and realtors, due to budget constraints. Whether it’s a homeowner applying recommendations given during a consultation or a stager furnishing an empty property, taking the time to properly prepare a home for sale is worth it! I hope for a better understanding and awareness of all the wonderful benefits investing in home staging can bring!
