RESA Headquarters is so thankful for those leaders who are making way in their communities and dedicating their time and knowledge to advance professionalism and excellence in real estate staging.

Reflecting With Becky Harmon RESA Jacksonville Chapter President-Elect

1. When did you get involved in leadership, and what inspired you to do so?

I was the RESA Jacksonville Chapter’s founding president in July of 2010. We started with just 2 interested people. We always had a core group of dedicated stagers who helped to keep things moving forward.

We started our group because we saw the benefit of being associated with the largest and fastest growing home staging organization in the US. We wanted to provide support and mentoring for local stagers. Having the RESA logo on our websites as board members strengthens our credibility.

2. What are you most proud of accomplishing during your time in RESA leadership?

Providing a place and time for sharing our issues and our love of staging with like-minded individuals is our best accomplishment and our motivation for contributing to a chapter. We also saw a number of charity events and opportunities thrive during our 8 years. The RESA Christmas Showhouse which benefitted Daniel House, decorating for new owners at Habitat for Humanity, Betty Griffith Women’s Shelter donations, and others.

3. What advice do you have for others who are interested in being involved with RESA leadership?

You all need each other! The meetings are so uplifting! Leadership is the pathway to success in your business. The meetings we conduct seem to be the life-blood of our staging community. Connections are invaluable. You will learn a lot about business as a board member.

4. What do you hope to see for the staging industry in the next 5 years?

We are planning to encourage affiliates and complementary businesses to join and participate… such as, interior designers and builders. I would like to see more regional meetings and it looks like that will be happening in 2019.
