In a recent study of 634 homes, done by the Real Estate Staging Association, un-staged homes spent an average of 107 DOM before staging. After staging, these homes are sold on average in 25 days. Homes that were staged prior to going on the market sold on average in 18 days. Homes that were staged first, spent 86% less time on market.
RESA’s national study of 634 homes (vacant and occupied), shows home owners had their property on market for an average of 132 DOM which equals 4 1/2 months. Round up to 5 months of expenses.
$3,400.00 x 5 Months = $17,000.00 in expenses
Had those home owners staged first, their time on the market would have been cut by 114 days on average. 132 DOM minus 18 DOM = 114 days.
114 days divided by 30 equals 4 months rounded up.
5 Months (132 DOM) = $17,000.00
1 Month (18 DOM) = $3,400.00
Total saved by staging first = $13,600.00
