2) Home Staging Certificate by Seneca College, Toronto, Canada (completing 4 courses)

3) Interior Design Home Décor Certificate by the Toronto District School Board, Canada

4) Interior Design Certificate by the Toronto District School Board, Canada

5) Chartered Institute of Management Accountant (CIMA) Business Accounting level – by CIMA, UK

6) Financial Economist professional designation – by China Personnel Ministry

7) Business Law Certificate – by CIMA, UK

8) Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) – by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Bankers Association for Finance and Trade (BAFT) and International Financial Services Association (IFSA)

Please tell us why you would be a good candidate for this position.

I am keen to give back to the communities that I belong to because I have benefited a lot from them to become who I am now. Also, I am confident that I can contribute to the NBOD for the following reasons:

1) My international leadership background in large multinational corporations in Finance Industry and my volunteer positions in Education Industry make me:

  1. a) more adaptable with valuable transferable skills
  2. b) more equipped with unique insights and powerful business acumen

2) 25 years leadership experience in 3 continents 6 multinational corporations (5 of 6 are fortune 500 companies ) in front, mid and back office functions with proven track record of helping large multinational corporations save millions and millions of dollars via uncovering best practices, improving efficiency as well as ensuring business operating in full compliance with all legal, regulatory requirements and financial obligations.

 

Please list two initiatives you would like to focus on during your term if elected.

a) I will quickly familiarize and adapt the existing protocol and aiming for  betterment of the organization by focusing on areas and rooms for improvements.
b) Given the home staging is relatively young industry and the current RESA coverage mainly within North America, I will:

  1. work on the possibility of expanding RESA’s geographic coverage (i.e. from existing to outside North America such as Europe and Asia via my professional and social networks from my first career)
  2. work on finding a way to expand our business scope (i.e. from existing to Home Deco, Design, Redesign and much more) to help build a stronger and more united industry and, as a result, help every RESA member to become more successful in a more meaningful way (i.e. making them become a member of a worldwide recognized professional association and being able to work with a bigger membership pool and customer base ).

 

Please tell us about any professional contributions you have made to the industry.

  1. a) I have been advocating RESA’s mission and vision in my home design/redesign/staging practice and my networking opportunities by demonstrating the high quality standards of RESA community
    b) I actively and regularly participate in RESACONs and local chapter meetings over the years
  2. I also volunteer at RESA Greater Toronto Area Chapter as VP – Membership serving local RESA members

 

Describe your leadership experience.

a) 25 years leadership experience in senior positions (i.e. Head of Department, Senior Manager, Vice General Manager, Manager etc @ HQ of 5 fortune 500 companies in London, England, Toronto, Canada and China);

b) 3 years volunteer experience in Board of Director position in a leading secondary school in Toronto;

c) 3 years volunteer experience in Staff Committee in a fortune 500 company HQ in Toronto
