Janie Jensen founded Always The Best Home Staging in Los Gatos, California where she dedicates her time and skill set to making vacant and occupied homes the best they can be for real estate agents and homeowners alike. Always The Best Home Staging also offers redesign services for clients who want to refresh their surroundings.
Janie dove into home staging after a real estate agent friend of hers suggested she stage her own home when she was putting it up for sale.
“You mean people get paid to do that?” was Janie’s response. She knew immediately she wanted to learn more about the home staging and her quest for knowledge led her to many resources, including the Real Estate Staging Association, which has helped her further her education and become a part of the home staging industry.
“I think belonging to a professional staging association provides lots of opportunities for growth for you as a person and for your business. It shows that you are committed to your profession and you are committed to continual education.”
Janie is a founding member of the RESA® Silicon Valley Chapter. She finished 2020 as Chapter President, only to move on to become the 2021 California State President where she will represent and support the RESA® Chapters in her home state through 2022.

My morning ritual is…
That depends on the day of the week–either walking 6 miles with my walking partner, having a group Zoom meeting with 6 girlfriends, enjoying a leisurely Sunday morning breakfast, or driving to a staging job.
My favorite meal after a long day of staging is…
Pizza and a salad or a baked potato stuffed with grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, and topped with melted cheese.
When faced with a struggle…
If it’s a business struggle, I call a fellow stager and talk it out.

In the next 5 years…
I plan to retire.
My go to staging accessory is…
Artwork!
Who is your role model and why?
I don’t have a role model.
What project are you really excited about right now and why?
I just finished staging a vacant home that had been recently updated, painted, and was full of natural light. I was able to add furniture, rugs, accessories to the home that made it just flow from one room to the other. The realtor told me that the owner walked through it and said the house “was so much warmer than with her stuff and she thought the staging was a good idea”. That makes me feel I have accomplished my personal goal, the real estate agent’s goal, and the homeowner’s goal. Hopefully a potential buyer will feel the same.
