Kristy has been “reimagining” home interiors since the age of 6, when she would fancy-up her family’s abodes using bed sheets as curtains and fashion baskets to the walls for unique decor. After a long career as an Assistant Principal and graduating from a masters program in Business Management while decorating on the side, Kristy followed a new dream and started Dwell Staging  in 2014 with the goal to bring fresh, contemporary staging to the Tampa Bay area.

I am: The Executive Director of Dwell Home Staging in Tampa Bay, FL.

 

Dwell Home Staging is:  A nationally award-winning staging company specializing in fresh, on-trend design.  Our mission is to create wealth and happiness for our clients.

 

I love staging because:  We pave the way for new journeys for buyers and sellers.  To show a prospective buyer the life story they can create in a new space, and to help sellers mitigate price drops and double mortgages so they can start a new home endeavor with ease is an honor and something our team takes very seriously.

 

My style is:  Welcoming, Rustic, Bohemian & Contemporary

 

Good staging should:  Sell the home, not the decor

 

Right now I’m obsessed with:  Black and white Spanish tile kitchens with raw wood cabinetry and Persian rugs

 

Staging is:  Exciting, creative, crazy, a growing industry, fun…. and freaking exhausting!

 

It’s my goal to:  Continue to grow our amazing Dwell Team, empowering each to be leaders and take ownership of their passion and purpose.

 

My motto is:  “Take your work seriously, but not yourself seriously.”

 

I love what I do because:  It comes from a place of love.  Growing up my amazing mom – who was very young and put herself through college while working full time and raising me – pushed me to work hard, be independent, and follow my own path.  We moved from one small apartment to another – sometimes once or twice a year –  and she allowed me to decorate each so they would feel like home to us.  I learned first-hand how the aesthetics of a space creates an impactful emotional experience and determines how “at home” we feel there.  To create that for other people is a gift.
