Feature Friday – Staged 2 Sell Solutions Inc.

In 2007, Monica Stanciu founded Staged 2 Sell Solutions Inc. based out of Markham, ONT, Canada. Since then, Monica has helped homeowners and real estate agents sell over 1 billion dollars worth of real estate by offering re-design, room makeovers, furniture and accessories purchase, and finishes for investors and new home buyers.

“There was an ad I saw in a decor magazine that made me curious and I realized that I was doing this for a long time. It gives me the opportunity to meet interesting people and get instant gratification seeing how in just a few hours we can transform an average space into a spectacular one”

As one of the Real Estate Staging Association’s founding members, Monica shares the value she gets from being a RESA member:

RESA is the only non-profit staging association that worked from the beginning to give stagers a professional status. Belonging to RESA helped me learn, grow and share my experience with fellow stagers. Having the RESA letters after your name adds more weight to your title. RESA’s Home Staging Industry Awards has helped me get more business. RESACON and webinars build knowledge, skill, and a sense of belonging.”

Throughout the years, Monica has earned five Home Staging Industry Awards, the most recent being Canada’s 2020 Luxury Vacant Home Stager of the Year.

Learn more about Monica:

What is your favorite RESA memory?

When I first won the Professional Stager Of The Year Award – Canada in 2013.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned since starting your home staging career?

That a rising tide raises all boats.

What is your favorite/most used resource or member benefit that RESA offers?

Having the RESA letters after your name adds more weight to your title. RESA awards helped me get more business. RESACON and webinars build knowledge, skills, and a sense of belonging.

I love staging because…

It gives me a chance to channel my creativity and making a good living out of doing what I love.

My personal aesthetic is…

Simple elegance with a touch of whimsy.

When I am not working I enjoy…

Traveling, reading, playing with my dogs.

Before I was staging…

I was a chemical engineer.

My number one goal this year is…

To find a lead stager to add to my team.

Who is your role model and why?

My mom is the strongest, smartest, funniest person I know. She is able to keep her optimism when things are going bad and who’s creativity and problem-solving skills never cease to amaze me. She is 81:)

When you are in a rut creatively where do you go or what do you do to get out of it?

Friends and dogs

My favorite meal after a long day of staging is…

Curry with Naan bread

Right now I am obsessed with…

Making my own art.

Good staging should…

Make you feel that the space wasn’t staged.

If you could only keep five possessions, what would they be?

Family, dogs, my house in the country, books, and some comfortable shoes.

What does a perfect day look like to you?

For me the perfect day is to wake up in a small white house on a Greek island, go for a swim, get some fresh fruit from my orchard, read and do nothing and then repeat.

Would you rather stage an occupied listing or vacant?

Occupied is harder but more rewarding. I don’t play favorites.
