This week we are featuring the work of long time RESA member Patricia Marie Kelly!
Learn more about Patricia here:
I am: an APSD Certified Professional Home Stager & ReDesigner, certified in 6 different levels of property staging, plus APSD Certified Color Consultant, IASP Certified Buyers Trend Specialist, CSP Certified Residential Renovation Project Manager, 2011 RESA Chicago Chapter Founding Vice President, a RESA Member since 2009, a current member of the Interior Design Society, and a dedicated consumer advocate for home staging education.
Marie Kelly Unlimited: is a nationally recognized and awarded home staging and redesign company founded in 2007, and based in the NW suburbs of Chicago. Marie Kelly Unlimited has been nominated 2015 & 2016 Top 10 Home Staging companies in the USA by HSRA, voted Best of Houzz for Customer Service 4 years in a row, and nominated for the Better Business Torch Award for Ethics 4 years in a row. Our team stages over 200 homes a year, ranging from small condos to luxury properties and model apartments, representing over $60 million dollars in staged properties a year. Over 95% of the homes we stage are sold in under 30 days, and many with multiple offers. Our company believes in giving back to the community and those in need, and regularly participates in volunteer projects for women’s shelters, rebuilding homes, food pantries, and more.
I love staging because: not only do I get to combine my passion & talent for design with my 30+ years of corporate business knowledge, but I also get to help others move onto new & better chapters in their life, whether its selling or building a new home, or changing the look or function of a home they already own.
My style is: forever changing according to the specific needs of a home. I believe in giving each home a signature look that compliments the needs and architecture of each property.
Good staging should: compliment a home’s individual character and architecture, ensuring the best features are highlighted in order to increase the perceived value of a home.
Right now I’m obsessed with: creating a new level of success both within my company and in my personal life
Staging is: a scientific and creative form of visual preparation of a home, in order to achieve a successful sale
It’s my goal to: bring our industry together on a new level
My motto is: “if you can’t change it, then embrace it”
I love what I do because: my passion and knowledge are making a difference in people’s lives, while helping rebuild our economy by getting homes sold at the highest dollar available to sellers for their homes
My biggest accomplishment this year has been: recreating myself after 10 years in business, by setting new goals that reach beyond fear of failure or judgement, and learning to take more time for myself my family, and my friends.
My favorite meal after a long day of staging is: a home cooked meal by my husband and a glass of wine
In the next 5 years: I hope to learn more, grow more, and expand more both as an entrepreneur and as an individual, so I can reach all my goals. My list of goals both for the next 5 years, 10 years, and even 15 years is forever changing to accommodate my changing needs and interests, as well as that of my potential customers, my family, and life in general. Sometimes we get so stuck on following the rules, or the goals we set, we forget that change is necessary in order to pursue the “right goals” at the “right time”.
