Janie Jensen Shares Her RESACON Experience

When was the first time you attended RESACON?
I attended RESACON in 2016 for the first time.
What were your initial fears/worries and excitements about attending your first RESACON?
I had several fears:
  • I knew no one. I had met Cathy Lee Cibelli, the California State President at a Stager Meet Up once and she is the one who told me about RESA and RESACON.
  • I was unsure that I wanted to commit to starting a home staging business.
  • I hadn’t taken any certification training so I felt out of my element.
  • I was excited to learn something new as I love learning new things.
What is the most valuable thing you have received from attending RESACON?
The most valuable thing is to get over your fear and as Audra Slinkey likes to say “Fake it til you make it”. RESACON gives you the courage to “Step Out” there as Shell likes to say.
Tell me about some of the relationships you have made because of RESACON.
I enjoyed RESACON 2016 so much there was no question in my mind I would be attending RESACON 2017.
Because of RESACON I became more acquainted with Cathy Lee Cibelli and have called her on numerous occasions for coaching and advice.
I know most of the RESA HQ staff and call Gina for advice
I shared a room with Yolanda Tillman from Washington D.C. and have become good friends with her– we talk on the phone or email each other weekly-sometimes more.
I met Judy Wray Piper and Arti Ramnathkar who live in my area of Silicon Valley and the three of us decided we needed to form a RESA Silicon Valley Chapter and WE DID!
