We have been warned by a pa. House representative’s office that calls are now coming in in favor of a new interior design licensing bill. We have now read this bill, and while it has not yet been introduced, idlcpa (asid + iida) has already starting its campaign.
Please go to our website, www.libertyforpadesigners.org and click on the legislative page. Phone numbers for all of the members of the professional licensure committee are there.
Please call as many members as possible to say that you are opposed to interior design licensing and that it will cost jobs. That it is totally unnecessary and that consumers are already protected by existing legislation, and that no one is losing work because of the ibc (international building code).
Call your own legislator and say the same thing.
To reach your legislator, go to www.house.state.pa.us, look right and type in your county, press “go”, then scroll down for your town, and click on the representative, and you’ll get their phone number and address.
When the economy turns around, it will be nice to know that we still have the right to practice and earn our living.
The practice you’ll save by this effort is your own.
