Michelle Zarlengo Reflects About The RESA Columbus Chapter

Being involved in a Leadership position for the Real Estate Staging Association allows you to get involved with your local staging community, while making a difference in the home staging industry. RESA Headquarters is so thankful for those leaders who are making way in their communities and dedicating their time and knowledge to advance professionalism and excellence in real estate staging.

Reflecting With Michelle Zarlengo 2018 RESA Columbus Chapter Treasurer

1. What made you decide to get involved in RESA leadership?
Our president, Lori Murphy of Element One, had been trying to assemble the Columbus Chapter for some time. As she and I chatted prior to forming the chapter, we both recognized the need for strong leadership to launch the chapter and have a productive first year. As I evaluated the various positions, the position of treasurer seemed to fit best. I have a finance and marketing background, and I have had the opportunity to serve an another non-profit board as treasurer, so I was excited to put my skills to use. As the owner of a staging company, it is so rewarding to see things being created, from staging rooms that create memories and offers to designing spaces that fit the needs of families, and it was really exciting to be a part of creating this new chapter to advance our industry right here in the Columbus area. I’m looking forward to a second year as treasurer.

2. What are you most proud of accomplishing during your time in RESA leadership?
I’m most proud of this leadership team’s ability to create a culture that genuinely cares for the industry and one another. While we do all “compete” with each other, I think each of us recognizes that by working together, we can continue to raise awareness and elevate the need for staging, creating more opportunities for all of us. I’ve really appreciated the open dialogue, advice and most importantly, friendships that have come from being a part of the chapter.

3. What advice do you have for others who are interested in being involved with RESA leadership?
I’ll tell anyone who is interested in leadership to take the leap and just do it! There are lots of great tools and resources from RESA to help, and if our chapter is anything like the others, all of members will be there to also help you and the chapter succeed. It’s a very valuable experience.
