Renu Mahajan Reflects on Her Leadership Position In 2018

Being involved in a Leadership position for the Real Estate Staging Association allows you to get involved with your local staging community, while making a difference in the home staging industry. RESA Headquarters is so thankful for those leaders who are making way in their communities and dedicating their time and knowledge to advance professionalism and excellence in real estate staging.

Reflecting With Renu Mahajan 2018 RESA San Diego Chapter VP of Membership

1. When did you get involved in leadership?

I was introduced to RESA by Audra Slinkey when I took her HSR training course. Unfortunately, at that time, San Diego did not have a local chapter. Realizing the benefit of having a chapter in San Diego,  I decided to look into starting one along with Judith Burzell, and Pramiti Bhargava. We were able to get veteran stager Suzanne O’Brien to join us and we started the board in January of 2016. I have served on the board since 2016 and being part of a trade organization has been one of the most rewarding and valuable decision I have made personally as well as for my business.

2. Advise to others interested in RESA leadership?
Whether  you are new to the industry or a veteran stager, being on a trade board has many benefits. Its a great opportunity for you to be part of a professional organization, help others in your field, gain a new skill set, get your name out there, make a difference, and influence change.
3. What do you hope to see for the staging industry in the next 5 years?
I hope that realtors and homeowners continue to realize the value home staging brings to the selling process such that it becomes a standard practice in the industry. With this, I also look forward to the industry being run on better standards such as more stable pricing by stagers for their services.
