RESA Stager Angela Gill of Practical Staging Solutions relayed a story about her invitation by CSP (Certified Staging Professionals) to attend days 2 and 3 of their training course as an Alumni member. During the course, the house that was to be available to the students for their practical staging day was no longer available, but a much larger, partly furnished house was offered—with no accessories. So Angela sprung into action—going ‘beyond the call of duty’. She quickly hit the local stores and soon added ‘new stuff’ to her current inventory. By 11:00 pm that night she had packed her car up to the roof with accessories and items and truly saved the day for the students. Fantastic Angela! In her own words—here’s her story:
“At the end of June, 2015, as an alumni member, I attended day 2 & 3 classes of an Ottawa CSP course. On day 2, the class was informed that there was no property available for day 3 hands-on staging experience. Later that morning the instructor got a call that there was another property, 3500 square ft, partially furnished, vacant, but no accessories. I was approached by the instructor and asked if I could supply the class (realtor) with accessories (sight unseen). I agreed, spoke with the Real Estate Agent, little info given, negotiated a fee for a 1-month rental. I left my first day of class, headed to Costco, Urban Barn, Bouclair, HomeSense, using this opportunity to expand my Practical Staging Solutions inventory! At 11 pm I finished packing my vehicle with showcasing items for the AM staging! After a long day 3, the property was staged. It could not have come together without the collaboration of the RESA and CSP instructor Catherine Lewis-Brown, all the CSP students, including fellow RESA/CSP alumni member Kimberley Oeggerli. Linda Woodland CSP Headquarters orchestrated the property arrangements. All in all, this was a great experience, even with the tight time constraints & sight unseen! I thank CSP for giving me this opportunity!”
