Feature Friday – Staging With Passion

Svetlana Klecherova founded Staging With Passion out of her love of creating unique, cozy spaces, for her client’s call home. She is based in Ontario, Canada and is dedicated to serving the Kitchener, Waterloo, Elmira, Cambridge, Guelph and Stratford areas.

“As lead stager and decorator, I put my heart and energy into every project. The end result is a beautiful, stylish and functional interior that welcomes its owners or potential buyers and provides comfort and satisfaction.”

Svetlana’s interest in decorating and reorganizing spaces started during her university years. This interest later developed into a passion and desire to help people make their homes more inviting, warm and unique, so they can start loving them again.

“My staging career started with advice and inspiration ideas on redesigning a space for a close friend. It sparked the enthusiasm afterward and led me to the idea of creating my own home staging business.”

Taking additional training on staging and interior decorating has helped enhance and fine-tune qualities Svetlana already possessed.

“It expanded my knowledge further and taught me invaluable lessons.”

When asked why she chooses to be a member of the Real Estate Staging Association, she shares:

“RESA® is a wonderful organization which not only unites home staging professionals but also provides excellent opportunities for growth through continuous training sessions and webinars. It is a place where individuals of various backgrounds get to learn from each other, support each other and most of all grow together.”

Learn more about Svetlana:

My motto is…

Honesty, integrity, and passion are the keys to success.

Right now I am obsessed with…

I wouldn’t say obsessed, but… just like any other stager, interior decorator, or designer, I get excited when a new project presents itself. A myriad of interesting ideas and options fill my mind and I can’t wait to complete it and see the final product and the owner’s reaction.

My morning ritual is…

A cup of good aromatic espresso and a delicious pastry. I know… this doesn’t sound very healthy 🙂

I love what I do because…

I get to help clients solve property challenges and inspire them at the same time.

My personal aesthetic is…

Light, airy, minimalistic interiors. I love clean lines, soft neutral colors, natural materials.

My number one goal this year is…

To help even more clients achieve their goals and add value to their projects by providing guidance or transforming their properties.

My favorite meal after a long day of staging is…

Light salad or tapas.

When faced with a struggle…

I get motivated to achieve my goal. I look for options and rely on my intuition and past experience to accomplish my goals.

My go to staging accessory is…

Flowers – whether fresh or faux they always give life to a  space.

Who is your role model and why?

I try not to follow other people by example. While I am inspired and admire the work and achievements of other people, I believe we are all unique and need to follow our own path. We should only strive to improve the older version of ourselves.

What do you think about when you are alone in your car?

Pillows, throws, decorative accents… I am sure most of my fellow stagers go through the same on a daily basis 🙂

What project are you really excited about right now and why?

I am always excited about any of the projects I get to work on. They are all unique and require a different approach. That is the beauty of it all.

What does a perfect day look like to you?

Warm, sunny day. The staging process goes smoothly, with no delays or unforeseen obstacles. The final photos turn out really great. Clients call to thank me for the amazing transformation I have made. I am filled with gratitude and satisfaction as another project is successfully completed.

When you are in a rut creatively where do you go or what do you do to get out of it?

Mother Nature. It provides an abundance of inspiration.

What part of owning your own business is the least enjoyable for you and why?

The accounting part. As a creative person, I’d rather focus on inspiration and transformation.

I am…

happy when creating unique interiors that not only bring joy to their owners but also inspire and wow potential buyers as well.
