The RESA Hamilton-Halton Chapter Reflects on 2018

Being involved in a Leadership position for the Real Estate Staging Association allows you to get involved with your local staging community, while making a difference in the home staging industry. RESA Headquarters is so thankful for those leaders who are making way in their communities and dedicating their time and knowledge to advance professionalism and excellence in real estate staging.

The RESA Hamilton-Halton Chapter Reflects on 2018

What made you decide to get involved in RESA leadership?
We all chose to get involved with our local RESA Chapter to support our own growth and development and network with fellow home stagers, however being involved in RESA leadership has also allowed us to help develop others and support our industry as a whole.

What was your favorite chapter meeting this year?
It would have to be our visit to 541 Eatery & Exchange in Hamilton, Ontario. 541 is a local non-profit café that supports the community through their unique “button program”. Patrons who can, buy buttons that are placed in a jar in the café. Those who can not afford to pay for a meal can use up to 5 buttons from the jar each day to pay for a meal. 541 also supports local youth by providing an after school homework program at the café. As a Chapter, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, our October Chapter meeting was held at 541 Eatery & Exchange and we were able to donate $1,000.00 to support the button program. It was a great feeling for all of us to be able to give back to our community while enjoying delicious food!

What do you hope to see for the staging industry in the next 5 years?
We have actually had some conversations about our hopes for the staging industry at several Chapter meetings. The one hope that seems to be held by many is to see the industry become regulated and therefore, consistent in practice and elevated in status.
