Feature Friday – Next Level Home Staging and Design

Pamela Coffey established Next Level Home Staging & Design to provide professional home staging, custom design and re-decorating services in Orange County, California. After more than 30 years as the head of a thriving commercial contracting and consulting firm and raising three amazing daughters, she decided it was time to follow her dream, and put my talents for creativity and design to work.

“It began with redecorating for friends and word of mouth referrals that I fit in between my day job and raising a family. That was four years ago, and in 2018, Next Level Home Staging & Design was born.”

In addition to an honest and professional work ethic, Next Level approaches each project with a combination of Pamela’s training, experience, background and great partnerships to bring a modern design approach to the staging industry. Through her vast network of vendors and suppliers, Next Level Home Staging & Design stock and have access to furnishings and decor to fit any style of home.

Pamela says, “If you like the fresh designs you see on HGTV, then you’ll love the work that we do.”

As founder and lead designer, Pamela holds certificates in both Interior Design and Home Staging from the Interior Designers Institute in Newport Beach, California. Not only is she a California licensed general contractor, Pamela has certifications as a Professional Home Stager and Color Consultant from RESA® Accredited Home Staging Education Provider, Home Staging Resource

Learn more about Pamela:

My personal aesthetic is…

Modern.

What does a perfect day look like to you?

A perfect day for me would be waking at 5:30 am, spending 20 minutes with a cup of tea and a magazine. Then off to the warehouse or staging location to work until 5 pm or so. Then home for dinner and relax with my husband.

When I am not working I enjoy…

Family time, playing and watching tennis, traveling.

My morning ritual is…

Sipping a cup of tea and thumbing through a favorite magazine.

My goal is…

To build a strong management team so I can continue to grow my business.

My favorite meal after a long day of staging is…

In-n-out burger!

When faced with a struggle…

I take a moment to breathe, refocus and consider the options. If there is time, I may ask for input, then I make a decision and follow through. Things don’t always go smoothly or may take longer, but I find that I’m less stressed if I follow those steps.

If you could only keep five possessions, what would they be?

Family Photo Album, wedding ring, reading glasses, cell phone, chapstick.

When you are in a rut creatively where do you go or what do you do to get out of it?

I look for inspiration in my favorite trade magazines and in the dozens of popular home store catalogs that come in the mail.

What project are you really excited about right now and why?

I’m really excited to finish decorating my own home. We moved several months ago, but between my staging work and the worldwide inventory and shipping delay, I got a little bit behind. Happily, things are starting to trickle in now so I can start working on it again!

Who is your role model and why?

Maya Angelou. She was humble, strong, true to herself, immensely gifted and always kind.

My go to staging accessory is…

White orchids.

Good staging should…

Look intentional, be tailored to the space and look effortless.

Right now I am obsessed with…

Instagram.

What do you think about when you are alone in your car?

I’m usually singing along with Sirius radio or thinking about shopping for myself or the warehouse.

My motto is…

Take the first step!

Why do you choose to support and be a part of RESA®?

I believe that there is strength in community. No matter what you dream of or are passionate about in life, there is a community of others who share those same dreams and passions. As a home stager, my community is RESA®. It’s where I look for information, support, resources, ways to contribute and connect with other stagers. I joined RESA® long before I staged my first house and used everything RESA® had to offer including the RESAcon convention to get my business off to a great start. There is something of value in RESA for every home stager whether you’re new, growing or well-established. That is why I support and am a part of RESA® and serve as a board member of the RESA® Orange County chapter.
