Launching a small business can be, shall we say, difficult! The day came when I was feeling defeated. It was the same day Shell Brodnax said to me, “keep talking, even if no one is listening.” Those words have stuck with me ever since. They became my mantra and carried me to success!
Being a RESA member has been the best decision I’ve made in the effort become a successful home stager. It provides me with the opportunity to collaborate with other, like minded entrepreneurs, gain access to expert advice, continue my education and expand my knowledge on many crucial aspects of both, business and the home staging industry.
One of the top reasons I joined RESA was for all the great insight to the industry they had to offer. What I didn’t know, was that I was going to get much more than that!
Joining has led me to meet some of the most wonderful people. It started by joining the Facebook groups, and that led to phone calls with other stagers around the country. Those phone calls turned into friendships that I know will last a lifetime.
The next step was to commit to attending RESACON where I actually got to meet my new (phone) friends in person. Face to face conversations with them taught me that I was not alone in my challenge to become successful in this industry.
We all had similar stories and were unknowingly needing the support of each other. Accepting Shauna Lynn Simon’s challenge to find an accountability partner lead our small group to create “The Family of Five”. Collaborating with each other’s strengths and supporting each other’s weaknesses, this group has been invaluable to me and I believe, they would say the same. I no longer felt alone. That being said, I may not be in business today if it wasn’t for the friendships and education I found through RESA. I am now and will forever be thankful for this amazing association!
