Has Home Staging Gone Hollywood?

Hollywood and the music industry recognize the works of their industry leaders for great reasons.

  1. Acknowledgement
  2. Credibility
  3. Exposure

Hollywood “A-listers” understand the importance of what these awards can do for their careers. This is why they submit their work for consideration to win such awards as the Oscar’s and Grammy’s.

Competition shows like The X Factor, American Idol, America’s Got Talent, Brittan’s Got Talent, Canadian Idol, Shark Tank and The Voice are also prime examples of how everyday people are using competition platforms to propel them forward in their dreams and businesses.the voice

Business awards are equally important for entrepreneurs as they accomplish the same objectives.

When you have heard of a local business person winning an award through the local newspaper or local TV news spot, have you ever said, “I wish that was me.” Or “WOW, great for them!”? Awards make a great impression on customers, and potential clients. They provide instant credibility and it gives your friends and clients something to talk about. Can you imagine you’re a list real estate agent client telling his homeowner client, “Oh, by the way, the home stager I am referring you to, was voted as one of the United States Top 10 Professional Home Stagers or the Canadian Professional Stager of the Year.” A comment like this can go a long way.

Acknowledgement, credibility and the exposure will live on, long after you have received the award. The marketing benefits are endless.

Opportunity, Opportunity, Opportunity

Awards can be an opportunity that many home staging industry professionals miss out on because they think one of two things:

1. UGH- It takes too much time, and does anyone care? How, will this help me?

2. I will never win. I am not “good” enough.

Well, it actually does not take that much time. Award application process is considered marketing efforts. Any time invested in marketing is time well spent. In addition, if you actually promote them that you have won, or been a finalist. That is history that is YOURS to keep. You can use it in all of your marketing efforts. It’s a differentiator for you. It sets you apart and this is incredibility important.

As for not being “good enough”, have you ever heard of “build it and they will come”, or ‘nothing ventured, nothing gained”? You must believe in yourself. You must visualize winning. I just heard a great quote recently, “You will never become, more than what you see yourself as becoming.”

RESA provides you with amazing opportunities to market yourself through the Home Staging Industry Awards. Everybody likes do to business with winners. Make sure your clients and potential clients know you are in the top of your league, by promoting your success through networking, marketing, social media, local media and your website.

Real Estate Entrepreneur Barbara Cororan was quoted as saying, “I became a larger than life figure for one reason only. When you’re quoted in the ‘Wall Street Journal,’ the ‘New York Times,’ constantly as the expert in the business people assume you’re a lot bigger than you are.” Awards programs are the roadmap to credibility. Imagine your quotes in local newspapers with your name as the local expert and being referred to as one of the United States or Canada’s Top 10 Professional Home Stagers or one of the Top 10 Staging Teams or North America’s Rising Star Professional Home Stagers.

All finalists and winners are provided with an award logo customized with your name and the award for you to use in your marketing efforts. In addition, top winners are presented with an actual award.

RESA will also be compiling an E Book of North America’s Top Staging Professionals and the winners will be included.

For the Canadian members who are chosen for the Top Ten Best Redesigns in North America, Canadian Home Trends Editor and designer Marc Atiyolil will honor one well deserving finalist with the “Canadian Home Trends Editor’s Choice Award”!
