Recently Todd McAllister and Michelle Minch taught an intimate workshop on how to shop the Furniture Markets at the Las Vegas Market. The class was a great success and home stagers are already asking for them to do more workshops! We are delighted to bring you a home staging tip from Todd McAllister himself!
Home Staging Tip From Todd McAllister:
When staging a property, it is important to stage the property for function. The layout needs to be functional and show how the property can be lived in. You need to consider how buyers will move through each room. You never want to create a layout where buyers will feel trapped in a room with only one way out. You should also keep in mind how the room will photograph.
I always stage a living room, then go outside and re-enter the room. By doing this, I am able to see if there is anything that catches my eye…. good or bad.
If it’s bad, I make the change.. whether it’s with the layout, lighting or accessories. I feel doing this is important because for the most part, the living room is the first room buyers will see and it sets the tone for the rest of the home.
