Being involved in a Leadership position for the Real Estate Staging Association allows you to get involved with your local staging community, while making a difference in the home staging industry. RESA Headquarters is so thankful for those leaders who are making way in their communities and dedicating their time and knowledge to advance professionalism and excellence in real estate staging.
Reflecting With Kim Pearse 2018 RESA Greater Nashville Chapter President-Elect
1. When did you get involved in leadership?
I joined the Nashville chapter within a few months of starting my business, and I became Vice President of Membership the following year. Last year I became President-Elect, and in 2019 I will be President.
2. What made you decide to get involved in RESA leadership?
I was new to the area and wanted to meet new people in the industry. I have always had a leadership role in everything organization I have ever been in, so it was just a natural for me after the first year to get more involved.
What are you most proud of accomplishing during your time in RESA leadership?
When I first started my business I searched for other stagers to mentor or allow me to shadow them and was unable to do so. Last year I allowed all new stagers that were members to shadow me at jobs or follow me on consults. I love helping new people. After you get certified, it is very scary to get your first real job to do alone.
4. What advice do you have for others who are interested in being involved with RESA leadership?
Just do it, you get more out of it than you put into it!
5. What do you hope to see for the staging industry in the next 5 years?
Educating the real estate agents on the value of staging and that staging is not just for vacant properties.
6. What was your favorite chapter meeting this year?
We held a realtor panel, which was my favorite because we were able to ask them all the questions we wanted to know about how they feel about stagers. It was a great benefit to my business.
7. What have you gained from being a part of leadership?
First and foremost, friendships. Also the knowledge and security that I have other people to lean on .
