Richard Kline – RESA 2020 National Board Of Directors Election Candidate

Richard Kline
Sought + Found, LLC

How long have you worked in the real estate staging industry?

10 years

Please list any professional designations, certificates or degrees etc.

RESA-PRO, ASP Master

Please tell us why you would be a good candidate for this position.

Due to my many years of working in the corporate world, I am very skilled at examining issues from both a macro and micro perspective. I am a good candidate because I am committed to the success of the Staging Industry and its members.

Please list two initiatives you would like to focus on during your term if elected.

Industry Standards – – I believe that having standards for Stagers is vital to ensure the long term growth and success of the industry. The work that has already begun by different committees within RESA to develop minimum requirements and basic knowledge for Stagers is a wonderful start. I would like to see that work taken further – so that we might one day be recognized by the Real Estate Industry as an essential and vital contributor to the process.

Education – – The surest way to lose clients in this industry is to fall behind the times. RESA offers many classes, webinars, etc. that will help us maintain and grow our businesses. I would like to see RESA implement a Continuing Education program, similar to what Realtors have to adhere to.

As an example, in order to maintain your RESA-PRO designation, Stagers would have to accumulate a certain number of points throughout the year – in person classes would be worth x number of points, webinars would be worth x number of points,  RESACON would be x number of points, etc.

Please tell us about any professional contributions you have made to the industry.

As Chair of the Affiliate Committee for the Austin Board of Realtors, I successfully lobbied for the recognition of Home Stagers as an industry; similar to those already recognized as Interior Designers or Insurance Agents.  This allowed, for the first time, the ability for Home Stagers to be found on the ABoR website who joined the organization as affiliates. I also championed the option for Home Stagers to have access to the electronic key systems and therefore access to real estate agent lockboxes – allowing Home Stagers access to properties without having to coordinate with the listing agent each time.

Describe your leadership experience.

  • I am currently the Treasurer of the Central Texas RESA Chapter
  • I am currently Chair of the RESA Executive Council Committee.
  • I served as the Chair of the Affiliate Committee of the Austin Board of Realtors for 2015 and 2017 (I was the first small business owner to chair a committee in ABoR’s history)
  • I founded the Austin Chapter of IAHSP in 2010 and served as President for three terms.

RESA 2020 Elections are now open for members to vote on the incoming National Board Members through October 11th  – Check your inbox for the unique link to vote.
