CSP International Solves a Skills Gap in Staging Industry
St. Catharines, ON CANADA—Research shows today’s buyer is smarter than ever before when assessing value of property. Christine Rae, the Academy President and Founder said recently, “Today’s busy, two-income, HGTV- educated buyers want a house that is on trend and move-in ready! We know the average property seller is 57 years old, however the average buyer is 32. So what’s a Boomer to do when they haven’t updated their décor since the 80s or is readying their parent’s home for sale for instance?”
Rae said, “This segment of the population is wealthy, healthy, intelligent and busy! They understand the power of return on investment and as such more than ever before in history are renovating property before they sell! In the 12 months preceding June 2014, Canadian homeowners/sellers spent $48.4 billion on renovations! According to the US Census Bureau Americans invested heavily too, spending $130 billion on remodeling projects.
In response to this market demand, the CSP International College for stagers now offers a continuing educational credit course for a “Residential Renovation Project Manager” designation. Deborah Boucher, industry expert and creator and teacher of the course, said, “This rigorous certification program requires an individual to complete three two hour webinars of extensive learning as well as complete and successfully pass an exam. We felt it was really important for the industry and for the protection of stagers and decorators who manage these renovations to have complete knowledge of the process.”
