Denise Tidwell established Staged Well Home Staging & Furniture Rental in 2021. She developed her eye for elegance when she was an associate of Holt Renfrew, a company known for luxury and fashion. With 8 years of experience, her passion for elegance, style and art made her realized that her true calling is to make things shine.
I have never heard of home staging before until I sold my previous property. I have always been passionate about design, and after my house was staged I realized, was my calling.
Denise believes each home has its own character and charm and deserves a fantastic look before going on the market. She completed training with RESA Accredited Home Staging Education Provider, Certified Staging Professionals® and is currently serving as Secretary of the RESA Kitchener-Waterloo Chapter.
As a new stager, this is a great platform to enhance my knowledge and to socialize with other stagers.

Where do you draw inspiration from for your staging?
Each property is unique, my inspiration is based on the property and the architectural design of the house.
What’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to working with clients?
Biggest pet peeve is when the home is dirty, not ready for staging, and the home owners follows you around.

What do you enjoy to do outside of work?
SHOPPING! I love walking around stores and enhancing my senses. Oh yeah, and spending time with my kids.
Are you managing a team? If so what do you do to keep your employees motivated.
I have a small team that are amazing. I treat them like my family. I always want to make sure that they are well, they take breaks and to feel comfortable because they dedicate their time to achieve my passion.

What part of owning your own business is the least enjoyable for you and why?
As a business owner, you always have to learn to do everything from marketing to accounting. I am not the biggest fan of accounting since I realize how much I spend to run the business.
Why did you decide to get into the staging industry?
Design has been my passion and when I found out that I can make it a career, I enrolled in a college to learn more about the industry.

How did you come up with your business name?
It was really challenging finding a name that will be catchy, simple and memorable. I came up with Staged Well since my last name is Tidwell, and I always would use the word ‘well’ in a lot of things. I would tell my kids “do well” “did well”, “be well” so I incorporated that.
