Ten members from the RESA Portland Local Chapter traveled to Seattle, WA on October 28 to connect with their staging colleagues in the Pacific Northwest. Coordinated by the RESA Portland Chapter President and Region 9 Vice President David Peterson, the groups had a fantastic time meeting, networking, discussing, and socializing.
The Portland group traveled by train and three stagers from the RESA Vancouver Island Chapter in British Colombia traveled by car to the event. Upon arrival in Seattle the group drove up to Kirkland and had a fun lunch at Cafe Veloce.
Many of us had heard about the Staging and Design Network showroom and rental program, and the founder who is RESA’s Washington State President, Tricia Tomlinson had visited the Portland Chapter one year ago, but none of us had ever seen it. We were all impressed with the quality of the furnishings in the showroom and loved learning more about the Network and the different services they offer.
Next up was the RESA Seattle Local Chapter meeting led by Seattle Chapter President, Jon Rosichelli which was hosted at LightArt, an incredible space just doors down from the warehouse. With over 30 in attendance we were able to have a very informative and productive meeting which was primarily a discussion about various relevant industry topics. We also discussed the upcoming RESA Convention as well as simple steps to track stats for properties that can be used by RESA National.
Finally we ended the event with a happy hour next to our hotel in downtown Seattle. We’ll plan to continue the connection by hosting the Seattle Chapter in Portland in Spring 2016.
Overall it was a wonderful event and we highly encourage other Chapters around the country who are within proximity to Meet Up and connect with your fellow Stagers.
